v1.2.0 went to the Chrome Web Store today. It's in review now — usually a few days — so the update will arrive on its own once Google clears it. Nothing to do on your end.
THE FIX THAT MATTERED MOST
eBay rewrote the markup on their search results pages. Every selector the sold-comps scraper used stopped matching, so it was reading pages that were full of comps and parsing zero from them — then reporting "sold check failed" as if eBay were unreachable. Measured on a live Yema Superman 500 search: 0 comps before, 68 after, all with sold dates.
Two related repairs came out of that. The scraper was also reading the page before eBay finished rendering it — it runs in a background tab, and Chrome throttles those — so it now waits for results to actually exist instead of guessing at a delay. And "we parsed nothing" is now reported separately from "we couldn't reach eBay," because collapsing those two is what let this hide.
BEHAVIOUR CHANGE YOU'LL NOTICE: SCANNING IS NOW MANUAL
Landing on a page no longer starts analysing everything automatically. You get a candidate count, your active price range, and how many would be skipped — then you press Scan page. Auto-scan is still available in Settings if you prefer the old way.
This exists because scans cost you watches against your monthly quota, and they were being spent the instant a page loaded, before you could narrow anything.
NEW
- Max offer on the card — "Offer up to $780 — hits your 15% ROI", following your ROI setting, with the gap to the asking price. The number was always being calculated; you just couldn't see it.
- Live asks from the UK and Germany when a watch has no recent US sold history. Labeled as asks, and they never move your max buy.
- Facebook disguise handling — s3iko, citiz3ns, 0mega, s.e.i.k.o now resolve to the real brand, since groups remove posts naming brands directly. Unknown ones you can add yourself in Settings.
- JDM brands stopped collapsing — King Seiko was being priced as generic "Seiko," Orient Star as "Orient," Credor and Campanola dropped entirely. Buyee domestic shipping is read from the listing, and finished auctions no longer mint cards.
BUGS WORTH NAMING
- Auction MAX BID was showing 100x too high — a $143 ceiling rendered as $14,300. Wrong since early July, on auctions specifically.
- Concurrent lookups could each open their own eBay tab and orphan the rest — that's the tab pile some of you saw.
- With several tabs open, the same listing was analysed once per tab, burning a watch each time.
ON THE VERSION NUMBER: this jumps from 0.7.x to 1.2.0. The store build was already on 1.1.0 while the repo line had drifted behind it. Same extension, corrected numbering.
